What we capture before retrofit
The assessment goes beyond CPU type and software version. I/O, networks, fieldbuses, panels, third-party systems, safety functions, backups and shutdown constraints all influence the migration path.
A reliable baseline creates a plan
Once the current state is understood, it becomes much easier to decide whether partial modernization, staged migration or a larger system replacement is appropriate.
